The Shortage Explained
The chlorine shortage we are experiencing right now is due to the devastating hurricane in Louisiana last summer. The BioLab chemical plant in Lake Charles sustained significant damage and is being rebuilt, with a target date of Spring 2022. This plant produces a bulk of the key ingredients used in chlorinated pool and spa products across North America which is why everyone is experiencing a shortage in chlorine tabs.
Chlorine Tab Alternatives
Unfortunately, we are temporarily out of chlorine tabs but the good news is that there are perfectly effective alternatives! Granule chlorine and chlorinating liquid are available at this time. Another option is to convert to a salt pool. We understand that tabs are by far the easiest option but we will help you adjust your routine to keep chlorine levels where they need to be in the interim.
